Burton Green update on installation of crossings.

Works to install crossing points on Red Lane and Hob Lane in Burton Green are continuing.

Following recent engagement with the local authorities, local schools and the community, we have increased our team working to seven days. This has meant that we can reduce the impact of the full road closures on Hob Lane, Cromwell Lane and Red Lane by around six weeks.

Our programme will still see the works finishing towards the end of the year but in a few weeks' time, we can start to change our traffic management to allow more access through the village.

From 9th October pedestrian access will be reintroduced between Hob Lane and Cromwell Lane for a two week period to allow better access to the school.

During half term week (23 October to 31 October) we will close the pedestrian access to help progress the works.

To coincide with schools returning in November, we will put in place temporary traffic lights along Hob Lane and Cromwell Lane to allow vehicle access to the school.

The works may need a further short full closure towards the end of November, but we will notify in advance if this is necessary.

Red Lane will remain closed for the duration of the works. Access to properties will be maintained.

These timeframes are subject to change as works progress but we will keep the HS2 in Warwickshire website (hs2inwarwickshire.co.uk) and the local community up to date with the works.

Whilst reviewing the programme and methods of work, our contractors have continued to look at retaining the oak tree during the installation of the crossings.
