Funding awarded to Kenilworth Town’s ‘Open for Business’ campaign

Today saw more projects awarded funding as part of the HS2 Community and Business Funds.

Kenilworth Town Council have been awarded £74,500 for their ‘Open for Business’ campaign. The programme will promote Kenilworth and build the town’s brand as a ‘must see’ location during HS2 construction and beyond. This includes up-skilling local businesses to compete in the digital high street through modern websites, social media and effective online marketing, as well as external communications to visitors to highlight Kenilworth as a destination and an experience. A series of events and activities will be produced with a view to engaging community ambassadors to continue these ideas and sustain them.

The project will:

  • Increase communication during HS2 construction;
  • Provide positive reasons to visit Kenilworth, stay and explore the location;
  • Promote alternative modes of transport available to and from Kenilworth, particularly the newly opened railway station;
  • Create a legacy ensuring local businesses thrive during the build phase and beyond.
  • You can find out more about Kenilworth Town’s ‘Open for Business’ campaign by visiting https://www.kenilworthweb.co.uk/ .

    The community and business funds are administered and managed by independent community charity, Groundwork UK. For more information on Groundwork and the funds themselves click here .
