HS2 in Focus: Free online ecology event

We would like to invite you to join a free webinar focusing on managing protected species in the West Midlands.

During this free webinar , hosted by HS2 and our early works contractors Laing O’Rourke and Murphy Joint Venture (LM), you will hear from our environmental experts about the work we are undertaking to ensure we carefully manage our impact on protected species , with a particular focus on great crested newts and bats.

You will be able to ask the team questions via a live Q&A chat.

The webinar will be broadcast live on Tuesday 24 November, from 10.30-12.00pm .

Register for this free online event .

We will be publishing a video recording of the session online, so if you are unable to attend the event, you will still be able to learn about what we are doing through a dedicated playlist on the HS2 YouTube channel .

HS2 and the environment

Even before HS2 starts operating, there are countless environmental projects and innovations occurring up and down the route to protect, preserve and enhance Britain’s precious natural environment.

We continue to undertake one of the largest ecological surveys in the UK. Some of the UK’s most experienced and leading ecological consultants are working with us, and our work is supported with technical input and advice from specialist ecologists.

Visit the HS2 website for more information about our work to manage our impact on the environment .

If you have a question about HS2 or our works, please contact our HS2 Helpdesk team on 08081 434 434 or email hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk .
