HS2 Notification: Highways works in the Interchange area from 12th October 2020

Utility surveys on the A45 service road and East Way from 12th to 15th of October 2020

Main works for HS2 are being carried out by Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV).

In July 2020, we notified local communities about the start of BBV’s work within the Interchange station area. Continuing with these works, BBV will be completing ground investigation surveys within side verges of the A45 service road and East Way from the 12th to the 15th of October. These surveys help us identify what utilities are within the area.

In order to work safely, BBV will be implementing temporary night-time road closures to the A45 service road and East Way. The temporary closures will be in place from 9:00pm – 5:00am. Road signage will be in place to highlight the diversion routes.

For more information, including a map showing the extents of the night-time and closure and the diversion routes, please see our notification .

24-hour temporary traffic lights on a short section of the A452 from 12 October 2020 for four weeks

During 2020, our early works contractor, LM, are improving and expanding sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

This is an ongoing programme of works, which commenced in March on Northway and the B4438 .

From Monday 12 October, we will operate 24-hour temporary traffic lights on a short section of the A452. An accompanying single lane closure will be installed along this stretch of road, which will alternate between northbound and southbound. These traffic measures will be in place for four weeks, but if our work progresses faster than expected, we will reopen this section of the A452 earlier if possible.

You will still be able to travel along this section of the A452 and we will ensure clear signage is in place for drivers.

The map below outlines the location of the temporary traffic lights and accompanying single lane closure in orange.

This schedule is subject to change depending on site and weather conditions. We’ll keep you informed of any adjustments at: www.hs2inwarwickshire.co.uk
