News on HS2 in Warwickshire

We are remodelling and improving sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

To enable us to connect parts of the existing road network safely and smoothly, to the new routes we create, a series of weekend road closures will be installed 2021 on and around Northway Island. Our first weekend closure to connect a new section of the remodelled road network near the Holiday Inn Express NEC along the B4438, was successfully completed in November 2020.

We’ll carry out temporary weekend road closures on the following dates:

• From 8pm on Friday 29 January, to 5am on Monday 1 February along a short section of the B4438

• From 8pm on Friday 12 February, to 5am on Monday 15 February along a short section of the A452

Our contractors may be on site up to an hour before and after those times to set up and close down the site. If work progresses faster than expected, we will reopen the roads earlier if possible.

Signed diversion routes will be in place for drivers during both weekends.
